Shadows danced on moonlit walls, flowing in and out of the velvety darkness, my only companions on this seemingly unending night. As I watched the delicate forms in their silent waltz, I knew that the cruel day would come soon. Rays of horrible sunlight would stream through my windows, and my companions would slip away just as fluidly as they had come.
"Take me with you!", I whispered into the darkness. But the shadows continued their dancing, deaf to my plea, and oblivious to the presence of the physical world that exists beyond their strange dimension.
I sighed before closing the blinds. Some of the shadows still danced in furious protest among the waning cracks of moonlight that still lingered on the walls. I drew the curtains and their silent forms were snuffed out.
